Shasta County

It is located about halfway between Sacramento and the Oregon border, provides great opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, such as multiple lakes for boating or fishing, the Sacramento River, Lassen National Park, the giant redwoods, and much more.

The Redding Regional Airport (RDD) currently offers flights to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Burbank.

Cost Analysis

Compared to the rest of California, Shasta County's cost of living is significantly less.  Housing in Shasta County is also typically much less expensive than the California average. Going just a few minutes out of town can provide the opportunity to own acreage, horses, or livestock, if that’s your dream.
